WATCH: Sam Mendes' Ho-hum Videoblog Debuts on 007 'Skyfall' Website

Sam Mendes’ first videoblog debuted with more of a whimper than a bang (or more of a stir than a shake if you prefer) at 7:00 AM GMT on the official “Skyfall” website. At one minute and thirty seconds, the videoblog is probably not what diehard Bond fans have been waiting for.

“I, like anyone else, have my own personal relationship with Bond, which began when I was about nine or ten years old,” Mendes says of his involvement with the 23rd installment in the 007 franchise. “I feel like the American years [of my film career] were like the apprenticeship for doing ‘Bond.'” A few other generic quotes pepper the video and then it’s over.

Granted, this is the first of presumably several videoblogs, so the behind-the-scenes tidbits should become juicier as more video segments debut. More shots of poolside Daniel Craig, or at least more angles on his controversial stubble-beard, might be a place to start.
