The car company has re-upped director Lance Acord (cinematographer on “Lost In Translation,” “Where The Wild Things Are,” “Adaptation,” “Robot And Frank” among others) to helm the spot that you’ll watch while eating your nachos this weekend. And this time around, the “Star Wars” link feels like a hamfisted afterthough. The bulk of the spot is actually more memorable, centering on a dog who decides to get into shape so he can chase cars. The sudden switch to the Cantina is a bit jarring, and ultimately not that funny. But whatever. It’s a popular setting for expensive sports ads — Adidas also visited the hangout for their World Cup spot in 2010 (to better effect).
