Will Smith/Sony Pictures Teaming To Produce Comedy Titled "Interpol" Based On Pitch

Will Smith and his Overbrook Entertainment will produce a comedy titled Interpol, based on a pitch by the writing team of Jonathan Keasey and Brant Boivin.

Sony Pictures bought the pitch for Overbrook which is said to be centered on a group of desk jockey Interpol agents who turn over their research to seasoned law enforcement agents who do the actual arresting of criminals, says Variety.

The groups are forced to switch roles when information that outs the veteran agents is leaked… and I’m sure hijinx and hilarity ensue.

No word on whether Will or any of the other members of the Smith family clan will have any roles in this, or if Will is just serving as producer.

It’s been a busy week of news for the Smith clan, as principal photography on 1000 A.E. began a few days ago (papa and little Jaden are starring); it was also announced earlier this week the Overbrook will produce an adaptation of the supernatural novel Angelology; and lastly, a new writer has been hired to rewrite the script for the Karate Kid sequel, which is expected to be in theaters next year.

And there’s that DJ-search reality TV show that Will and Jada are developing with Simon Cowell.
