The International Short Film Festival Oberhausen has announced its theme programmes and the schedule for the festival’s five competitions.
This year’s thematic focus will be the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Oberhausen Manifesto and the festival will be dedicating two programmes to this theme. The first will be a presentation of 24 films by signatories of the Manifesto, some of which have been restored for the festival. The second will cover 57 films by signatories, some by signatories and some by filmmakers who followed in its wake.
The fesitval’s competions are separated into five categories: International; German; NRW; MuVi Award for best German music video; and the Children’s and Youth Film Competition. There will be 140 works screening througout the five competitions.
