Wrekin Hill Finds “The End of Love”

Wrekin Hill Finds "The End of Love"

Wrekin Hill Entertainment has bought North American rights to Mark Webber’s “The End of Love,” which premiered in competition at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival.

The distributor plans to release “Love” in the third quarter of 2012, day-and-date in theaters and on VOD.

Loosely based on the filmmaker’s life, the movie stars Webber (an actor whose credits include “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World”) alongside his real-life toddler, Isaac, and explores the challenges of his single-parent household.

Wrote Eric Kohn at Sundance, “Intimately shot and almost exclusively focused on the two characters’ daily lives, ‘The End of Love’ maintains an effectively bittersweet atmosphere that works its quiet spell throughout, although it aims too low to leave a particularly strong impression.”

Webber’s “Scott Pligrim” co-star, Michael Cera, makes a cameo appearance, as does Amanda Seyfried. Costars include Shannyn Sossamon and Jason Ritter.

Sale was negotiated by Chris Ball and Rene Cogan of Wrekin Hill. Kevin Iwashina and Christine D’Souza at Preferred Content represented the filmmakers.
