Culty John Cusack Romps Through the Getty Villa After Hours

New York Magazine’s latest profile by Jada Yuan follows John Cusack through the Getty Villa after hours, where the actor remarks on the emptiness: “We could steal art.” Instead he settles for pilfering a bag of chips at the snack stand.

The star of the Edgar Allen Poe-inspired “The Ravengives an intense overview of his prep for the role of the broken-down poet. (Our review of the movie is here.)

Cusack explores his past legacy, from absurdist teen comedies to skewering them in “Hot Tub Time Machine.” “I guess people like ‘Hot Tub Time Machine,’ don’t they?” he asks, “It’s culty. I do culty well.”

However, he did refuse when the studios asked him “to make things like ‘American Pie’ and do puke and dick jokes.” “They wanted me to do ‘Say Anything’ jokes, but I thought some of it was a little lazy,” he says. “It didn’t earn that one.”

The article made us ask the question: with which actor would we most like to explore a museum, eat chips, and contemplate a potential art heist? Read the complete story here.
