Liam Neeson & Olivia Wilde To Star In Paul Haggis’ Romantic Drama ‘Third Person’; Jude Law Rumored For Role As Well

Liam Neeson & Olivia Wilde To Star In Paul Haggis' Romantic Drama 'Third Person'; Jude Law Rumored For Role As Well

Lately, writer-director Paul Haggis has been developing a few gestating projects, and one of them looks like to have firmed up as his follow-up to the largely unsuccessful prison escape actioner “The Next Three Days,” which starred Russell Crowe and Elizabeth Banks

Speaking with TalkTalk, Liam Neeson has revealed that he’s set to team up with the Haggis in Europe later this fall for the director’s drama “Third Person,” which he has been working on for a while now. Not only that, the actor also noted that he’ll be in illustrious company with Olivia Wilde, who reunites with her ‘Three Days’ helmer.

“I’m doing a movie in September for four weeks with Olivia Wilde,” Neeson revealed. “We have some serious love-making to do so I have some push-ups to do. It’s a really interesting part and I get to go to bed with Olivia Wilde! It’s a small film. It’s a really interesting script.”

So what does the story involve other his romance with Wilde? “It’s a love story between different couples. I play a writer — or at least, I think so at the minute. It’s about a writer trying to get over a tragic death that he emotionally tries to access through the characters he writes about. He imagines their reactions to this tragic death of a kid drowning in a swimming pool.”

We reached out to Neeson’s reps to confirm, but they were cagey as deals don’t seem firmed up just. But Vulture recently spoke to Haggis who confirmed the project. “It’s about three story lines, three love stories, three relationships in three different cities that combine in a very odd way: New York, Paris, Rome,” he said adding about the cast that, “Liam Neeson is one of them, I can say that. The woman he’s in a relationship with…will be played by Olivia Wilde…I can’t tell you who else.”

But could that third person be Jude Law? The aforementioned TalkTalk site mentions him as also starring, but it’s not sourced and it’s not clear if Neeson also referred to him in the conversation, so we’ll have to see if that pans out. Either way, a nice change of pace for Neeson who signed up yet again to kick ass in the plane thriller,Non-Stop.”
