Terrence Howard Lands Villain Role In 'Dead Man Down' With Noomi Rapace, Colin Farrell & Dominic Cooper

Terrence Howard has been around for a while, and done a lot of different things, but has be ever really played a bad guy? Listen, it’s Friday afternoon, it’s Easter and we may be forgetting something, but we can’t remember when last the Academy Award nominated actor made life hard for a couple of protagonists. But either way, his next role will see him doing just that.

Howard has joined Colin Farrell, Noomi Rapace and recently cast Dominic Cooper in “Dead Man Down,” a thriller that is gearing up to go in front of cameras soon. Penned by J.H. Wyman (“The Mexican,” “Fringe“), the thriller follows Victor (Farrell), who sabotages the business and picks off the men belonging to underground crime lord Alphonse Hoyt (Howard) in New York City as vengeance for the death of a family member. Along the way, Victor is seduced and blackmailed by Beatrice (Rapace), a crime victim seeking retribution. Their intense chemistry leads them spiraling into payback delivered in violent catharsis. Cooper will play Farrell’s buddy on the street.

Sounds pretty nifty and to give the grit required, Niels Arden Oplev, the man behind the Swedish version of “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo” will be directing. As for Howard, it’s another interesting project on an upcoming slate that also includes Walter Salles‘ “On The Road” and Robert Reford‘s “The Company You Keep.” Cameras start rolling this month in Philly.
