Funny or Die Launches iTunes Magazine 'The Occasional'

FunnyOrDie, the popular comedy video site, is launching a bi-monthly digital humor magazine, “The Occasional,” on iTunes. “The Artist” Oscar-winner Jean Dujardin graces their first cover. The humor mag’s content distinguishes itself in two ways: it’s funny and it’s interactive (email a five-second sound bite letting them know how they did).

“Once you get past the realization that it’s the greatest thing you’ve ever laid eyes on, you may notice it looks nothing like anything resembling a magazine,” writes Funny or Die in an email. “And there’s a good reason for that. We have no idea what we’re doing.”

The inaugural issue offers a Craigslist-style “Dog Missed Connections,” an email correspondence between Videogum’s Gabe Delahaye and a spammer offering blind European children for adoption. There’s also a fresh Zach Galifianakis “Between Two Ferns” episode co-starring Ed Helms (“The Office,” “The Hangover”).
