Master Aggregator David Hudson Joins Fandor

Master Aggregator David Hudson Joins Fandor

For nearly a decade, David Hudson has been one of the most indispensable movie bloggers on the Internet. First at GreenCine and later at MUBI (with a brief stop in between at IFC), his blog, The Daily, set the standard for smart film criticism aggregation. I’ve always enjoyed Hudson’s work and over the years I’ve read hundreds, if not thousands of articles I almost certainly never would have discovered without his help. Still, it wasn’t until I started Criticwire, and began doing a little of this stuff myself, that I appreciated the scope of his effort and came to fully realize what a Herculean task maintaining something like The Daily is. If you told me David Hudson was, in fact, a pseudonym for a hive-mind collective of alien supercomputers from the future, I would believe you. I’m pretty sure no ordinary man could do what he does. I sure couldn’t.

Regardless, Hudson moved The Daily to a new home today, so it’s time to update your links.  The Daily is now The Keyframe Daily at the indie streaming movie website Fandor. In his introductory post, Hudson says that while The Daily “has evolved considerably since it launched as a pre-Facebook, pre-Twitter blog back in May 2003” and while it will continue evolving into the future, he’ll “be doing much the same” thing at Keyframe: that is, “obsessively tracking breaking news, stunning photos and great writing.” I know I speak on behalf of all film criticism nerds when I say: thank goodness.
