We’ve done our fair share of promoting (and sarcastically mocking) Steven Soderbergh’s “Magic Mike.” With the arrival of two new UK red band trailers, in which we see even more of Channing Tatum & Company’s waxed bodies, we can again exclaim our anticipation for what is posturing itself as what women really want.
When the second trailer hit the web, Indiewire stated: “[it] gives us what we really want – thongs and American flags. Long live Channing Tatum and the advent of male objectification.”
Stripper Joe Manganiello told EW: “In one scene, I’m painted gold with a fig leaf over by dick, dry humping 200 women.” Swoon.
When the movie closes the Los Angeles Film Festival on June 24 and hits theaters June 29, we will finally find out, if after years of tolerating objectified femmes on-screen, audiences are eager to ogle “hard bodies, butts and thongs,” as ThePlaylist put it, or as Seattle chimes in, “hot boys in thongs.”
