Ridley Scott Wants You... To Vote on the 50 Semi-Finalists of YouTube's First Annual Your Film Festival

YouTube and airline sponsor Emirates, in partnership with the Venice Film Festival and Scott Free Productions, have announced the 50 semifinalists of the first annual Your Film Festival.

The “global competition to find the world’s best storytellers” fielded more than 15,000 submissions from 160 countries and organizers are now looking for YouTube viewers to decide which 10 finalists get to show their work in Venice in August and take a shot at the $500,000 grand prize.

Give a listen to Ridley Scott, a festival judge along with his “Prometheus” star Michael Fassbender, as he talks about the semi-finalists and the voting procedure. Then vote for your favorite entries through July 13 to help determine who will win the production grant to work with Scott Free. The voting window has just opened.

Participants were asked to send a 15-minute, story-driven video on any subject. The complete list of semi-finalists is below, with links to the filmmakers’ work. Happy viewing — and voting.
