Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Expands to San Francisco

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema is heading to San Francisco.

Next year, the people of the city will too be able to recline in comfy chairs while Alamo employees serve them warm dinners and cold beers like dutiful house elves. The San Francisco theaters will be known as the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema New Mission, contained within the historic New Mission theater.

From the press release: “The programming of Alamo Drafthouse New Mission will be similar to the Alamo Ritz location in Austin with a mix of classic film programming, our unique alternative content and live events, foreign films, independent films as well as some studio films.  As in Austin, Alamo Drafthouse New Mission is eager to entertain partnerships with new and upcoming film festivals.”

Alamo Drafthouse has proudly provided movie goers with uniquely luxurious and silent experiences since 1997. The Austin based cinema chain has been hailed as “the coolest movie theater in the world” (Wired) and the “Best Theater Ever” (Time Magazine).
