Charlie Kaufman Launches Kickstarter Campaign for Stop-Motion Animation Film

What do Charlie Kaufman, Whoopi Goldberg, Bret Easton Ellis, and Jon Heder have in common? Well, they’re all trying to raise awareness, and of course funding, for their upcoming film projects through Kickstarter. Acclaimed screenwriter Charlie Kaufman has just created his Kickstarter campaign in attempt to raise $200,000 for his upcoming stop-motion animation film, ‘Anomalisa’.

‘Anomalisa’ will be produced at Starburns Industried with a creative team that consists of Rosa Tran, Dino Stamatopoulon, Duke Johnson, & “Community” ex-showrunner Dan Harmon (thankfully there are some people who still enjoy working with him).  You can find the awesome Kickstarter video along with a short synopsis that already has us deeply intrigued below:

The film follows a celebrated motivational speaker travelling the country, changing the lives of countless people. But in the course of transforming others, his life has become hollow and meaningless. It’s a grey and monotonous existence where people literally look and sound identical.

Suddenly one day, a girl’s voice pierces through the veil of nothingness. She fills him with such a rush of “aliveness”, he’s willing to abandon everything and everyone, including his own family, and escape with her to a better life.
