Mike Epps Returns For ‘The Hangover Part 3’

Mike Epps Returns For 'The Hangover Part 3'

Like some kind of comedic “The Dark Knight Rises,” it looks like Todd Phillips is giong to go out with a bang for “The Hangover Part 3” and a face from the first film is going be returning to the franchise for the final installment.

Variety reports that Mike Epps will return from “The Hangover,” and it’s probably a safe guess he’ll be involved in some capacity in Ken Jeong‘s newly expanded role. In case you forgot, Epps played Black Doug, the wrong man Mr. Chow brought to the exchange in the original film, who also was a puzzle piece in helping The Wolfpack find their missing friend. It was an amsuing little appearance, althought to be honest, this writer forgot about it completely and it wasn’t a highlight reel kind of thing, so we’re neither here nor there on his return.

Production should be gearing up soon because they’ve got less than a year to shoot this thing and get in theaters for its release date next spring. After the complete waste of time that was “The Hangover Part 2,” we really hope Phillips and co. have an original story and some new gags other than “Oh no, not again!” That the widely rumored plot has the gang rescuing Alan from a mental hospital is a step in the right direction, but we’ll see if that’s true or some misdirection.

“The Hangover Part 3” opens on May 24, 2013.
