On Monday, Indiewire and 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment were proud to host a free screening of the extended cut of “Margaret” (all 186 minutes of it) in New York. Writer/director Kenneth Lonergan was in attendance, along with most of the principal cast including Mark Ruffalo, Matthew Broderick and J. Smith-Cameron.
For Longergan, it marked a bittersweet moment following a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it theatrical run, which led to an aggressive Twitter campaign identified by the hashtag “#teammargaret” that called for more press screenings of the film and helped elevate its profile. #teammargaret was out in full force on Monday, with many fans lining up for hours to see the special cut on the big screen, and hear the cast and crew look back on the film.
For those that couldn’t make it in or didn’t make it out to the event, below is the entire Q&A with the “Maragaret” team, hosted by Tony Award-winning playwright Tony Kushner (“Angels in America”).
“Margaret” is now available on a DVD/Blu-ray combo pack. The release includes both the theatrical and the extended cut.
