Watch: Colin Farrell Gets Beat Up & Jennifer Lawrence Looks Scared In Clips From 'Total Recall' & 'House At The End Of The Street'

The summer isn’t over yet folks, and there’s still a whole lotta non-awards-contending fare headed your way, so here a couple of clips from some movies that won’t tax your brain too hard.

First is “Total Recall,” and with the film’s August 3rd release date only a week away, Sony looks to be upping the ante of what they’re showing to those looking to see Colin Farrell fill Arnold Schwarzenegger’s shoes from the 1990 original. What we have here is a scene depicting the exact moment Kate Beckinsale goes from sultry housewife of Farrell to hired assassin, which would seem like a spoiler to anyone who hasn’t seen the original film (though it’s a plot point that’s been prevalent in recent trailers). Unfortunately, weak fight choreography and some J.J. Abrams-like lens flares may not exactly be what audiences are looking, but at least Farrell looks as if he’s giving the role his all.

We won’t see Jennifer Lawrence do her requisite career horror flick until September 21st, but a TV spot for “House at the End of the Street” has hit the Internet for the film following its debut on Monday’s Teen Choice Awards that acts more like a montage of moments looking to scare up some excitement for the picture – and less a scene meant to show the film’s tone/style/etc. Not differing much from the early trailers, we see Lawrence aimlessly sauntering about the grounds of her new home, which is located directly next to the house where a young girl and her family were viciously murdered years before, in which the troublemaker she’s crushing on currently resides. You know how the rest goes, and it looks like this could be your typical domestic possession movie, only with a fine talent like Lawrence in the lead. There’s plenty of shots of distant apparitions and Lawrence waking up next to what looks like a dead body, but what’s best is that the clip encourages tech-savvy viewers to use the odd acronym “#HATES” as a Twitter hash tag to promote the film.
