Produced by Singer and directed by Stewart Hendler (“Sorority Row”), “H+” looks at a dystopian future society where “technology has gone horrifically wrong… Consumers are rapidly installing a chip called ‘HPlus‘ into their nervous systems that allows them to access the Internet 24 hours a day – by just thinking it. One day, a virus is released – causing a third of the world’s population to die instantly. The series deals with the massive political and human changes that take place, the fight for survival and the mystery to discover who is behind this atrocity.”
Starting today, viewers can subscribe to the “H+” YouTube channel. Exclusive new content will roll out over the next couple of weeks, giving fans insight into the origin of the show, and behind-the-scenes tidbits.
YouTube, like Amazon, Netflix, Hulu, Crackle and Blip, has been taking pioneering strides into the original programming arena in the past few months, investing a rumored $100 million in the foray. Talent like Rainn Wilson, Deepak Chopra, Justin Lin, Amy Poehler and Ashton Kutcher have all been successfully courted for the company’s new programming projects. Also, YouTube’s parent company Google will make it a sweet deal for content creators, with 55% of ad revenue going back to the programming teams.
“H+” will also be shown at a special YouTube Comic-Con event on Friday, July 13.
