Erik Van Looy’s English-language remake of his own 2008 Belgian infidelity thriller, “Loft,” has been acquired by Joel Silver’s Dark Castle Entertainment. According to Vlaamse Film’s Facebook announcement, distribution will go through Dark Horse’s WB output deal, even though Silver has moved on to Universal.
Wesley Strick adapted Bart DePauw’s script about five married friends who share a loft where they bring their mistresses. When an unknown dead woman is found in the loft, the friends suspect each other of murder. The philandering husbands are played by Wentworth Miller, James Marsden, Karl Urban, Eric Stonestreet and Matthias Schoenaerts (“Bullhead,” “Rust and Bone” and the original “Loft”), while Rhona Mitra, Isabel Lucas, Rachael Taylor, Margarita Levieva and Kristin Lehman tackle their wives and mistresses.
The film was produced by Anonymous Content and Belgium’s Woestijnvis. Executive producers are Silver, Andrew Rona and Steve Richards.
