Harry Potter's holly and phoenix feather wand is no match for Katniss Everdeen's bow and arrow — at least, not on Amazon. The company reports that sales for the "Hunger Games" series have overtaken the "Harry Potter" books in both print and e-book sales, making the Suzanne Collins trilogy Amazon's best-seller.
This is particularly impressive when one considers that the "Potter" series outnumber the "Hunger Games" by four books.
Meanwhile, J.K. Rowling is getting a run for her money over at the British Amazon.co.uk, where she has been dethroned as the best-selling author in the site's history by E.L. James of the "50 Shades of Grey" trilogy. Sex sells.
