Tribeca Film has acquired all North American rights to the thriller “Resolution,” from directors Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson. The specialty distributor plans an early 2013 day-and-date release in theaters and on VOD.
The film, which had its premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in April and subsequently played at Fantasia fest, concerns two friends who hole up in an isolated cabin as one of them tries to beat a drug addiction.
“Anchored by two extraordinary lead performances, ‘Resolution’ is a truly singular work that avoids easy classification,” said Tribeca Enterprises chief creative officer Geoffrey Gilmore. “Aaron and Justin are some of the industry’s brightest new talent.”
Tribeca Film exec Nick Savva negotiated the deal with Nate Bolotin and Aram Tertzakian of XYZ Films on behalf of the filmmakers.
Tribeca Film has recently released “The Giant Mechanical Man,” “Collaborator” and “Detachment.”
