After ten days and hundreds of movies, the 2012 Toronto Film Festival is history. Audiences in Toronto picked their favorites — David O. Russell’s “Silver Linings Playbook” as the best fiction film, Jared Leto’s “Artifact” as the best documentary, and Martin McDonagh’s “Seven Psychopaths” as the best midnight movie — and so did Indiewire’s critics. In just over a week, our crew of reviewers churned out dozens of reviews; when you factor in the movies they previously covered at Sundance, Cannes, and other festivals, the final tally is almost 100 pieces (our own lead film critic Eric Kohn — who’ll be off to Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas in a couple days — reviewed more than 60 of them himself).
