Following a successful one-week IMAX engagement, Paramount is giving Spielberg’s classic action flick “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” an extended theatrical run starting September 14, playing in more than 300 digital cinemas across the country and anticipating the film’s Blu-ray release on September 18.
The film’s new digital restoration was overseen by Spielberg and renowned sound designer Ben Burtt, and pains were taken to preserve the 1981 original’s look, sound and feel. Included in the Blu-ray extras is seven hours of bonus material, including the new doc “On Set with Raiders of the Lost Ark – From Jungle to Desert and From Adventure to Legend,” with rare production footage and archival interviews with Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford.
