Project of the Day: One Man Tries to Find a Woman Who Likes Gingers

Project of the Day: One Man Tries to Find a Woman Who Likes Gingers

Here’s your daily dose of an indie film in progress; at the end of the week, you’ll have the chance to vote for your favorite.

In the meantime: Is this a movie you’d want to see? Tell us in the comments.

Being Ginger

Tweetable Logline:

A twenty-first century love story about one man’s quest to find a woman who likes gingers.

Elevator Pitch:

The film starts with a simple premise: Can I find a woman who has a specific attraction to men with red hair? From there it becomes an exploration of the difficulties of modern dating and the insecurities we all face (with a few ginger jokes thrown in for laughs). It also shows the very real effects bullying can have on an adult, even years after the fact, as I go on a personal journey to learn to appreciate what has always made me different. You might think being ginger isn’t a big deal, but you were wrong…

Production Team:

Director/Producer: Scott P. Harris
Camera: Lou McLoughlan

About the Production:

“I’ve always wanted to make a film about my hair. I know, it sounds crazy, and everyone laughs at me when I say it, but little things happen all the time and I’ve always known that there was a funny story in it. The problem was that I didn’t want to just rant about how people tease me. Then one night I realized that people are always telling me that they have this friend who just loves guys with red hair. But it’s always their friend. So I decided I’d start looking for one. And Being Ginger was born.” — Scott Harris

Current Status:

Post-Production.
