“Episodes,” Showtime’s sitcom about a pair of British writers who to Hollywood to remake their own UK TV series for a US audience with less than smooth results, has been renewed for a third season.
The half-hour series, a co-production with the BBC, will be back for nine more episodes of insidery showbiz satire featuring Matt LeBlanc as a fictionalized version of himself as well as Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig. Production will begin in Los Angeles and London in 2013.

The series is created and executive produced by David Crane (“Friends”) and Jeffrey Klarik (“Mad About You”), and is also executive produced by Jimmy Mulville through his Hat Trick production company. Season two of “Episodes” wrapped up on August 26th. While the show’s attracted positive reviews, the ratings haven’t really caught fire — 1.66 million weekly viewers across platforms in season two, according to Showtime.
