Tony Bennett Doc 'The Zen of Bennett' to Get a Release Through Netflix and Abramorama

Abramorama and Netflix have closed deals to acquire rights to “The Zen of Bennett,” a feature-length documentary about legendary crooner Tony Bennett. Abramorama will handle a limited theatrical release in select cities beginning October 24, while Netflix will stream the film exclusively starting November 12.

Directed by Unjoo Moon and produced by Benedetto Films’ Danny Bennett and Jennifer Lebeau, “The Zen of Bennett” shows the 85-year-old singer, author, painter and activist looking back over his 60-year career and explaining his philosophies of life and the creative process. The project, which had its premiere at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival, is Benedetto’s first.

Bennett will put out a new record, “Tony Bennett: Viva Duets,” and a book, “Life Is A Gift: The Zen of Bennett,” this fall.

New York-based Abramorama has released the films “Exit Through the Gift Shop,” “Anvil! The Story of Anvil” and “Pearl Jam Twenty.”
