IFC Films has grabbed U.S. rights to the Neil Jordan-directed vampire flick “Byzantium” at the Toronto International Film Festival. Sources put the deal at $1 million-plus.
Gemma Arterton, Saoirse Ronan, Sam Riley and Jonny Lee Miller star in the story of two vampire women wreaking havoc on an English seaside village. It had its world premiere Sunday.
CAA repped the sale with WME Global; the two agencies also co-repped the festival's first big sale, Derek Cianfrance's "The Place Beyond the Pines."
The buy is IFC's first of the fest, though almost certainly not the last.
