Watch: The Cast of 'The West Wing' Reunites to Teach People About Voting in Non-Partisan Races

If all it takes is a cause to get the cast of “The West Wing” back together and in character, let’s think of a new one each week and just say the show’s back on air. Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Dulé Hill and Joshua Malina were back on screen in May to promote a fitness initiative for Funny or Die, and now even more of the cast of Aaron Sorkin’s presidential series has come together for the video below, informing people to vote in non-partisan races instead of accidentally overlooking them after voting in the partisan ones, and touting the excellence of Michigan Supreme Court candidate Bridget Mary McCormack.

Who? non-Michigan residents may ask. Well, McCormack’s a founder and co-director of the Michigan Innocence Clinic, a professor at the University of Michigan Law School and, most relevantly to the video below, sister to “In Plain Sight” star Mary McCormack, who played Deputy National Security Adviser Kate Harper on “The West Wing.” According to the Washington Post:

Mary called [Allison] Janney and [Bradley] Whitford, her closest friends from “West Wing,” and asked them to do a campaign video. “They said ‘sure’ and it spiraled from there,” said McCormack. Others signed on to reprise their old roles: Richard Schiff, Joshua Malina, Janel Moloney, Lily Tomlin and Melissa Fitzgerald. “I think it’s a testament to their good will and good friendships,” the candidate said. In early August, McCormack found herself in a nondescript office building in Los Angeles with the Emmy-winning actors. Veteran TV writer John Cockrell wrote the script; Mary’s husband, producer Michael Morris, helped with editing.
