Zurich Film Festival Unveils Official Lineup: "Amour," "Beasts of the Southern Wild" and "Dans La Maison" Set to Screen

The 8th annual Zurich Film Festival (running September 20-30 this year) has officially released its lineup, with Ben Zeitlin’s hit “Beasts of the Southern Wild,” Mike Birbiglia’s “Sleepwalk With Me” and Sundance documentary favorite “The Imposter” all in competition for The Golden Eye, the event’s main prize.

The Golden Eye awards are presented to a film in each of four main categories: International Feature Film, International Documentary Film, German-Language Feature Film, and German-Language Documentary Film. Michael Haneke’s Palme d’Or winner “Amour,” Ben Affleck’s “Argo” and François Ozon’s “Dans La Maison” (making its European premiere) will screen out of competition. A selection of iconic films representative of the festival’s honorary tributees will also be screened — this year’s tributees are legendary producer Jerry Weintraub, actors Richard Gere and John Travolta, and director Tom Tykwer.
