DOC NYC Reveals Full Lineup; 'Artifact' and 'Venus and Serena' to Open Fest

The third edition of DOC NYC, New York’s documentary film festival, will showcase a whopping 115 films and events. Opening night will kick off with the U.S. premiere of “Artifact,” which follows Jared Leto’s band Thirty Seconds to Mars as it battles a lawsuit against its record label, and the New York premiere of “Venus and Serena,” a look into the lives of the tennis-conquering Williams sisters. Both films had their world premieres at the Toronto film festival.

“DOC NYC has earned a reputation for unveiling films like ‘Cave of Forgotten Dreams,’ which became a sensation, and ‘Undefeated,’ which went on to win the Oscar,” said DOC NYC artistic director Thom Powers. “Now we’ve curated a new crop of films destined for greatness.”
