Mahyad Tousi Joins With Power to the Pixel

We think it is great that one of our favorite guys Mahyad Tousi was at Power to the Pixel looking to find and promote stories from South/ East/ Central Asia.  A great matchup.

London recently hosted the “Power to the Pixel,” media event, focusing on trends in the entertainment industry. At the same time, the stories circulating from the Middle East and Central Asia are dominating media headlines. The recent events in Libya, and the ensuing reaction in London and beyond, serve as an example of the profound and even devastating power of media and story-telling.

In New York, there is one media pioneer addressing this cultural shift head-on. Producer and story architect, Mahyad Tousi, and internationally-acclaimed writer and commentator Reza Aslan have teamed up to form BoomGen Studios, a storytelling factory whose work is focused on extracting stories rooted in the “growth regions” of West/Central/South Asia: the cradle of storytelling, and the world’s most valuable untapped reservoir of stories with global appeal.

Already collaborating with some of the biggest brands in Hollywood, BoomGen’s pipeline of projects ranges from political thrillers to romantic comedies, all of which are designed from inception to be interactive and consumed across multiple media platforms and formats, from interactive graphic novels to games and films.

Tousi presented two of BoomGen’s projects during “Power to the Pixel”. Operation Ajax was featured as a case study on the opening day of the event, and Birthright was part of the live “Pixel Pitch” competition.
