Music Box Films Takes U.S. Rights to Jan Troell's 'The Last Sentence'

Music Box Films has acquired all U.S. rights to Jan Troell’s “The Last Sentence,” which had its world premiere at the World Film Festival in Montreal, where Troell won the best director award.

“We’ve long admired Jan Troell’s work, and it’s a special privilege to release his 25th film,” said Music Box managing director Edward Arentz. “‘The Last Sentence’ struck us as nothing short of a masterpiece by a filmmaker working at the top of his form.”

Originally titled “Truth & Consequence,” “The Last Sentence” tells the story of crusading Swedish journalist Torgny Segerstedt, who fought against Hitler and the Nazi regime until his death in 1945. Jesper Christensen and Pernilla August star in the film, which is currently screening at the Busan International Film Festival.

Music Box Films has recently released “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo,” “The Deep Blue Sea” and “Monsieur Lazhar.”
