On this week’s Oscar Talk, Kris Tapley and I dig into the screenwriting race. As usual, adapted is super-competitive. Does “Looper” have a chance in the always weak original category?

We assess momentum for several key best picture contenders: “Argo” boasts a full head of steam while “The Master” is losing ground. Can “Lincoln,””Life of Pi,” “Silver Linings Playbook,” “Zero Dark Thirty,” “Django Unchained” and “Les Mis” catch up?

We look at the changes in the doc Oscar rules and the IDA nominations –what hath Michael Moore wrought? Will “Skyfall” be relegated to tech categories, like “Bourne”? (We will discuss the new Bond film further next week.)
