Robert Rodriguez’s “Machete Kills” will be distributed in 2013 by Open Road Films, which has acquired all U.S. distribution rights.
The cast for “Machete Kills” — the second film in an intended trilogy that began with the 2010 “Machete” — includes Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard, Charlie Sheen, Lady Gaga, Antonio Banderas, Jessica Alba, Demian Bichir, Alexa Vega, Vanessa Hudgens, Cuba Gooding, Jr., William Sadler, Marko Zaror and Mel Gibson.
Here’s the plot:
Danny Trejo returns as ex-Federale agent MACHETE, who is recruited by the President of the United States for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man – he must take down a madman revolutionary and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer who has hatched a plan to spread war and anarchy across the planet.

The deal was negotiated on behalf of Open Road Films by CEO Tom Ortenberg, general counsel and executive VP operations and business affairs Elliott Kleinberg, and senior VP acquisitions Ben Cotner. Jere Hausfater and Mark Manuel negotiated on behalf of Aldamisa, along with Graham Taylor and WME Global, who repped the film.
