Jennifer Connelly and Cillian Murphy are attached to star in “Cry/Fly,” the first English-language film by Peruvian writer-director Claudia Llosa (2010’s Best Foreign-Language nominee and Berlin Golden Bear winner “The Milk of Sorrow”).
Melanie Laurent, who impressed in both “Inglourious Basterds” and “Beginners,” is also in talk.
Set in Minnesota and Canada, “Cry/Fly” spans two time periods, and centers on a mother (Connelly) with a dying six-year-old daughter and a falcon-keeper son. Twenty years later, after the mother has been long separated from her children, her now grown-up son (Murphy) is persuaded by a reporter (Laurent) to track the woman down.
Dreamcatchers is launching sales of the film at AFM; production is planned for February 2013.
