The Writers Guild of America, East announces its partnership with The Black List, which lists the best unproduced screenplays from Hollywood each year, as chosen by industry execs. With this new partnership, WGAE members will receive a 20% discount on The Black List’s new online site which hosts scripts for professional evaluation. They will launch an online initiative called “Go Into the Story” to promote this agreement and guild services; it will also feature blog entries from Guild representatives.
WGAE Executive Director Lowell Peterson states:
“We are proud to support this extension of The Black List concept. Screenwriters will get solid evaluations of their work and broader access to decision-makers. At the same time, we will continue to get the word out about the Guild’s central role in representing writers.”
Franklin Leonard, founder of The Black List, adds:
“We are frankly a bit beside ourselves about this partnership with the Writers Guild East. The Guild exists to advocate for writers, and it is a mission we share.”
