Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions has nabbed distribution rights to found-footage horror film “Peachfuzz,” produced by Mark and Jay Duplass. Blum and his company are the producers of the “Paranormal Activity” franchise.
“Peachfuzz” is helmed by newcomer Patrick Brice, and centers on a young man whose reply to a Craigslist ad brings unforeseen ramifications. “Peachfuzz” marks the brothers’ next foray into the horror genre after 2008’s comedy-horror hybrid “Baghead.” The two are currently signed with Universal to remake 1978’s Alan Alda-Ellen Burstyn romantic comedy “Same Time, Next Year.”
The Duplasses also produced last year’s Sundance time-travel comedy “Safety Not Guaranteed,” in which Mark Duplass also starred alongside Aubrey Plaza.
