David Lowery’s “Ain’t Them Bodies Saints,” one of the most anticipated films of the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, has landed with IFC Films. The U.S. dramatic competition film had its world premiere at the Eccles Theatre Sunday, Jan. 20.
Rooney Mara, Casey Affleck and Ben Foster star in the drama, which follows an escaped convict who’s gone in search of his wife (and former accomplice) and the daughter he has yet to meet. Toby Halbrooks, James M. Johnston, Jay Van Hoy, Lars Knudsen, Amy Kaufman and Cassian Elwes produced.
“Coming into Sundance, this was one of the biggest titles on our list and probably on many buyers lists, and so we are ecstatic about this acquisition for our company,” said Sundance Selects/IFC Films president Jonathan Sehring. “This is a beautiful and exquisitely crafted romantic American drama, with superlative performances across the board. We are honored to now be able to say we get to work with David Lowery, a remarkable new voice in filmmaking, as we take this film to audiences.”
WME Global repped the sale for the filmmakers.
