Beyoncé Knowles’ self-directed HBO documentary special, Beyoncé: Life Is But A Dream, aired on Saturday, February 16, 2013, and it ended up being a huge draw for the network, attracting 1.8 million viewers during its initial 9pm broadcast.
The network says via press release that it’s the largest audience for an HBO documentary since 2004, when Nielsen changed the way it measures viewership for HBO.
And what feature documentary did it kick out of the number 1 spot? Spike Lee’s 2006 mini-series When the Levees Broke: A Requiem in Four Acts, which pulled in 1.7 million viewers.
I still haven’t watched Beyoncé: Life Is But A Dream, and, as I said previously, it’s not exactly high on my to-see list. Maybe I’ll watch it some time down the road. Maybe not.
