Greta Gerwig Shines in First Poster and Clip from Noah Baumbach’s New Comedy ‘Frances Ha’

Greta Gerwig Shines in First Poster and Clip from Noah Baumbach's New Comedy 'Frances Ha'

Since becoming an audience favorite at last year’s Telluride, Toronto, and New York Film Festivals, word has been relatively quiet on Noah Baumbach’s latest feature film “Frances Ha.” But along with distributor IFC Films’ announcement of the film’s release date, the film’s first clip and poster have surfaced.

Described by Indiewire’s Eric Kohn as “A snapshot of a life in transition” (check out the full review here), the film stars Greta Gerwig (she co-wrote the film with Baumbach) as an exuberant aspiring dancer living in Brooklyn, who has found little traction in the years since graduating college and moving to the city.

The extremely short clip features Gerwig worryingly reflecting on her age with one of her roommates, played by Michael Zegan, and gives a glimpse of the films beautiful black-and-white imagery by cinematographer Sam Levy. The poster meanwhile features a startlingly colorized image of Gerwig in the film, perfectly capturing the film’s playful tone.

IFC Films will release the film in New York and LA on May 17th, with limited expansions following soon after. Check out the poster and brief clip below:
