Among the slate of films that open Austin’s SXSW Film Festival tomorrow is “What Fun We Were Having” co-writer E.L. Katz’ directorial debut “Cheap Thrills,” written by Troma vet Trent Haaga and David Chirchirillio.
The thriller, airing as part of SXSW’s Midnighter series, stars Pat Healy (“Compliance”) as a new father facing eviction who meets a wealthy couple (Sara Paxton and David Koechner) who offer him salvation, for a price.
