First Look: Interactive Installation 'Journal of Insomnia' to Premiere in Tribeca's First-Ever New Media Competition

If you missed Tilda Swinton at MoMa, the National Film Board of Canada is preparing its Tribeca Film Festival (April 17-28) nocturnal premiere of “A Journal of Insomnia,” an interactive project that offers an immersive experience of sleep deprivation. Insomniacs are both spectators and actors in this fresco of hundreds of personal reflections on sleepless nights, gathered from all over the web since last fall. Check out a first-look teaser trailer of the installation below.

The “Journal of Insomnia” is part of Tribeca’s first-ever Storyscapes program, a competitive showcase for innovative new media projects, and is one of only five art works selected from around the world to premiere at the New York City fest.

It will be on view at the Bombay Sapphire
House of Imagination. The Storyscapes exhibit will be
open April 19–21.
