'God Loves Uganda' Questions & Answers - Short Doc Highlights Film's Journey + Clips

A well put together video documentary that highlights the Sundance Film Festival journey of Roger Ross Williams and his feature documentary, God Loves Uganda, itself a journey that documents Ugandan pastors and
their American counterparts who spread *God’s word* and evangelical values to
impressionable millions desperate for better lives.

by his own roots in the African American Baptist church, director
Williams has said:

“I am interested in the exploration of
religion in Africa, with the goals of understanding and healing. I am
the son of a pastor, the brother of a pastor and I spent my life growing
up singing in the gospel choir of my family church. I want to get to
know, and comprehend African cultural views. I want to explore the
Western media’s portrayal of Africa. I want to know what it is about the
lives of the Ugandan people which inspires such deep faith. I want to
make a film possessing complexity and depth.”

I’ve yet to see the film, but Zeba Blay saw it at Sundance and reviewed it HERE.

The 9-minute piece below follows director Williams, members of the film’s cast, as they navigate the festival, fielding questions from audiences and the press, addressing the film’s core themes, and also includes several clips from the film itself.
