BET Will Air '30 Days In May' (Intimate Portrait of Floyd Mayweather & 'Life-Changing Experience')

BET has announced that it will air the Showtime documentary special 30 Days In May, a revealing film chronicling the days surrounding Floyd Mayweather’s incarceration in 2012, which premiered on April 3, on Showtime.

So if you don’t have Showtime, and you missed their broadcast of the one-hour film, and you at least have basic cable, you’ll get your chance to watch it on BET when the network airs it on Monday, April 29 at 10pm ET, with an encore airing on Friday, May 3 at 8pm ET, as well as an airing on Centric on Saturday, May 4 at 8pm ET.

This rebroadcast of the film, which was created exclusively from never-before-seen footage and features the only interviews Mayweather has conducted about this “life-changing experience,” is in anticipation of the Showtime PPV presentation of “MAY DAY: Mayweather vs. Guerrero,” featuring Mayweather’s first fight back in the ring since his release from jail.

The mega-event, headlined by the undefeated 8-time and 5 Division World Champion Mayweather facing 6-time and Four-Division World Champion Robert Guerrero, takes place Saturday, May 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

We are excited to partner with SHOWTIME on this major original project,” said Barbara Zaneri, Executive Vice President of Programming Strategy, Scheduling and Acquisitions, BET Networks. “Floyd Mayweather is an intriguing figure and we believe our audience will be interested in his evolution as a fighter and a human being.

From his flamboyant mansion to a surprise birthday party for his daughter, 30 Days In May follows Mayweather as he prepares for life in jail and chronicles the days between Mayweather’s May 5, 2012 victory over Puerto Rican superstar Miguel Cotto and the start of a three-month jail term on June 1, 2012 at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas.

Produced by Jackson Nguyen and Todd Crites of Turn Left Productions, the film concludes shortly after August 3, Mayweather’s self-described “best day of my life,” when he was released after serving two months behind bars.

Mayweather vs. Guerrero, a 12-round fight for Mayweather’s WBC Welterweight World Championship, will take place Saturday, May 4 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be produced and distributed live by Showtime PPV beginning at 9pm ET/6pm PT.
