Italian visual artist and experimental animator Donato Sansone (aka “Milkyeyes”) has produced some amazing short films (see embed above) and now has embarked on another project – an “experimental art video composed of grotesque, surreal and abstract portraits”. He is currently trying to fund this through Indiegogo – and I think its worthy of support. (I’ll only post very selective crowd-funding projects on Animation Scoop).
Here’s how Sansone describes it on his Indiegogo pitch:
“I want to make a new project, that compared to my previous works is not exactly a short film, but rather an experimental art video, that could become a film festival product, an online viral video or art video installation. Basically it’s a composition of several tridimensional portraits done out of a simple still picture; in the making i will merge painted art with digital art to get an esthetically fascinating result.”
The video below shows clips from Sansone’s other work and the try-dimensional portraits he has in mind. It looks pretty cool to me. If you want to help him out, click here.
