Funny Or Die’s April Fools: Bring Back 90s TV Or Die

Funny Or Die's April Fools: Bring Back 90s TV Or Die

This year Funny or Die pranked us with an April Fools joke that would get any lover of the 90s excited followed by immediate letdown. Creating the faux site Kickstart of Die for our favorite dated 90s shows like “Wings,” “Sliders,” “Dinosaurs,” “Family Matters,” and “Darkwing Duck,” Funny or Die gave us an enjoyable dose of nostalgia while also supporting real charities.

On each of the show’s fake Kickstarter pages the original casts come together in videos asking for help in turning their memorable shows into movies since, if “Veronica Mars” could do it, why not?

In the “Wings” video the casts tell us that the film “Wings: Serenity” has already been partially shot, but still needs $60 million more to finish. But before you pledge your dollars just yet make sure to watch the exclusive clip from the unfinished film in which Steven Weber and Amy Yasbeck try to save a crashing plane while Weber gets drunk off Red Bull–because it gives you… yeah.

For “Sliders” Jerry O’Connell’s Quinn Mallory slides out of a portal into Bow Town where cops are called the boplice and everyone wears giant bow ties. This is just one of the many worlds O’Connell proposes the “Sliders” film to include, as well as a world where everyone surfs to work since The Beach Boys are bigger than The Beatles, and one where a real Burger King rules the world. With $4.2 million already pledged, this is one ridiculously awesome fake movie we’d love to see made, if only to watch Quinn slide out of Bow Town.

If your longing for 90s TV hasn’t been satiated yet, fear not because Baby Sinclair of the “Dinosaurs” is back to scream some more. But the “Not The Mama” baby isn’t a baby anymore. Sinclair’s one man show “Where’s the Mama” tells the true-life story of his downfall into heroine and sex after the show ended. If you pledge $50 or more you’ll help bring the biopic to life and even get a copy of Baby Sinclair’s porn film “Jurassic Pork.” Who could refuse?

But after all the fun and nonsense Funny or Die finally gives themselves away once users click the Pledge button, directing them to real charities to put their money towards.
