The biggest anmation event in LA – at least this weekend – is opening night of the new gallery show at the Van Eaton Gallery. THE HB SHOW is a group tribute by over 100 artists – animators, cartoonists, fine artists, sculptors, you name it.
Saturday night at 6pm (till 10pm) at Van Eaton’s Gallery at 13613 Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks is Hanna Barbera ground zero. Curated by Phillip Graffham, many surviving veteran animators will be on hand, including Willie Ito, Jerry Eisenberg, Tony Benedict and Bob Singer – and many of the artists in the tribute will attend.
Exhibiting artists include Bill Morrison, Dan Haskett, Thom Foolery, Stephen Chiodo, Spike Brandt, Van Partible, Scott Shaw! and many many others.
Also on exhibit: Vintage toys and memorabilia from the incredible Dave Nimitz collection. This is a must-see. If you can’t make it Saturday night, artwork will be on exhibit until April 20th, 2013.
Here’s a small taste of what to expect:
