The 39th Seattle International Film Festival, running May 16 – June 9, will open with Joss Whedon’s jazzy, pared-down adaptation of William Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing.” Whedon and the stars of the film, Alexis Denisof, Amy Ackler, Nathan Fillion and Clark Gregg, are confirmed to attend.
The black-and-white film was shot in just 12 days at Whedon’s California home, during the director’s period of contractual obligation to take time off before continuing post-production on “The Avengers.”

The SIFF opening night gala will take place on May 16, with an expected audience of 3,000 attendees. More info here.
