Leading Men Age, But Their Love Interests Don't

Vulture‘s Kyle Buchanan has posted an amusing yet disturbing feature charting the age difference between A-list leading actors and their female romantic counterparts. Among the actors scrutinized were Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise and George Clooney, whose collective onscreen May-December romances reveal that as these leading men get older, their love interests get younger.

It seems like time and time again, male movie stars are allowed to age into their forties, fifties, and even sixties while the ages of their female love interests remain firmly on one side of the big 4-0, but is this a perception borne out of reality? To find out for sure, Vulture has analyzed the data of ten middle-aged leading men and the ages of the women they’ve wooed onscreen.

Excerpted below is a sample of one such graph, in which you will see that 60-year-old Liam Neeson’s love interests have become much younger over time, namely Olivia Wilde (29) in the upcoming “Third Person.” See the full article here.
