I wanted to give folks a heads-up about a few job openings for film writers advertised online in the last few days. First, the L.A. Weekly is in the market for a new L.A.-based critic:
“We’re seeking a stylish writer, capable of bringing fresh insight to both obscure films and blockbusters, and an excellent reporter, willing to dig deeply while reporting on the film industry and its luminaries. We’re looking for someone who can write long-form stories with the same panache as he or she brings to reviews. Extra credit for writers who can mix it up in blog posts and on social media, too.”
Interested writers should send cover letter, resume, and five recent writing samples to sfenske@laweekly.com. Meanwhile, according to this tweet from Eric Vespe, Ain’t It Cool News is also hiring:
“If you want to write for AICN, get in touch with me. We’re looking for some news editors. Reply here or email quint@aintitcool.com”
Good luck to everybody who applies. And after all the craziness that’s happened in the last few days, I wish you all a safe, and happy weekend.
